Things I love:
Love! Celebration! Writing!
This is true. When two of my very dear friends asked if I would perform their wedding ceremony, the biggest, brightest light bulb went off. Since I was a small child marrying my stuffed animals and pets to each other, this is where all roads have been leading.
I am a believer in love
Through all the trials and tribulations of dating in New York City, I have maintained a hope and belief that finding your match is possible.
I am a writer
I received my MFA in Writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts, and am currently represented by Folio Literary Management. My debut young adult novel, AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS, came out with Flatiron Books/Macmillan in the spring of 2017.
My favorite thing to write about? You guessed it. Love!
I am a public speaker and a performer
As a college professor and a teaching artist, I find myself speaking to an audience on a nearly daily basis. A musician, shadow puppet poet, and theater maker to my core, I approach public speaking as an art form. I am very comfortable in front of a crowd, and have even been told my voice is soothing!
I’ve worked in wedding catering for years
As such, I pretty much attend a wedding a week. I understand how they run, and I understand when a ceremony is operating from the heart or from a sample script.
Where do these roads of mine lead?
Well, I got ordained, and now hopefully they’ve led me to you and your love story. I’ve introduced myself; now let me listen to how you got here, why you love each other, and why there is no one else on earth for you.
Let’s make magic happen.
